About us
Keystone Evaluations
Keystone Evaluations is an independent website evaluation service created to give website owners a clear, objective, and comprehensive understanding of how effectively their websites are performing.
We evaluate websites using the proprietary Independent Website Evaluation Framework (IWEF)—a structured, evidence-based methodology that examines the website as a complete system. Rather than focusing narrowly on design, search optimization, or technical performance, IWEF evaluates how the website’s purpose, structure, content, usability, credibility, visibility, and technical foundation work together.
Our role is not to promote a particular platform, defend previous website decisions, or sell an expensive redesign. Our role is to examine the available evidence, identify meaningful strengths and weaknesses, and provide an honest assessment of what should happen next.
Who We Are
Keystone Evaluations is built around the principle that website owners deserve more than automated scores, generic observations, and recommendations influenced by the sale of additional services.
We are an independent evaluation service—not a web design agency, SEO company, advertising firm, or software platform. This distinction allows us to assess a website without beginning with a predetermined solution or a financial incentive to recommend a replacement.
Every evaluation is guided by objectivity, consistency, proportionality, evidence, and professional integrity. Findings must be supported by observable information. Recommendations must address meaningful opportunities for improvement. Existing strengths are documented with the same care as deficiencies.
The public-facing service is Keystone Evaluations. The Independent Website Evaluation Framework is the proprietary methodology behind every comprehensive evaluation.
Why We Developed Keystone Evaluations
Keystone Evaluations was developed in response to a significant gap in the website-services market.
Most services described as “website audits” examine only a limited part of the website. An SEO audit may concentrate on metadata, keywords, indexing, and search visibility. A performance scan may identify loading or technical problems. A design review may focus on visual appearance. An accessibility tool may generate a list of detectable barriers.
These specialized assessments can be useful, but they rarely explain how all the parts of a website work together—or fail to work together.
Automated reports also tend to produce long lists of warnings without adequately distinguishing between minor imperfections and issues that materially affect the website’s success. Website owners may receive dozens of findings but still lack clear answers to the most important questions:
- What is genuinely working?
- What is reducing the website’s effectiveness?
- Which problems matter most?
- What should be addressed first?
- Is a complete redesign necessary?
- What specific improvements are likely to provide the greatest value?
Keystone Evaluations was created to answer those questions.
The Independent Website Evaluation Framework provides a disciplined method for examining the website’s mission and purpose, information architecture, homepage, navigation, content quality, topical coverage, internal linking, search optimization, user experience, accessibility, technical quality, visual presentation, credibility, governance, and future readiness.
It then brings those findings together to evaluate the website as a complete and interconnected resource.
Our Goal
Our goal is to replace uncertainty with clarity.
A Keystone evaluation is intended to help website owners make informed, defensible decisions based on evidence rather than assumptions, personal preferences, or sales pressure.
We want every customer to understand:
- What the website currently does well
- Where meaningful weaknesses exist
- Why those weaknesses matter
- Which improvements deserve immediate attention
- Which changes can reasonably wait
- What specific actions should be considered
- How the individual findings affect the website as a whole
The objective is not to identify the greatest possible number of faults. It is to identify the improvements most likely to strengthen the website’s usefulness, credibility, authority, visitor experience, and long-term effectiveness.
The completed report is designed to serve as a practical improvement roadmap. Customers may use it to guide internal work, evaluate future proposals, establish priorities, allocate resources, or communicate clearly with designers, developers, content professionals, SEO providers, and other specialists.
Our Pledge
Every Keystone Evaluation will be conducted according to the following commitments.
We will remain independent
Our conclusions will not be influenced by an obligation to sell a redesign, development package, marketing program, or other follow-up service.
We will follow the evidence
Findings will be based on observable information rather than personal taste, unsupported assumptions, or a predetermined conclusion.
We will tell the truth clearly
We will identify meaningful weaknesses honestly, recognize existing strengths fairly, and explain important findings in straightforward language.
We will distinguish importance from activity
Not every imperfection requires action. Recommendations will reflect the likely significance of the issue and the expected value of correcting it.
We will provide specific direction
We will not rely on vague statements such as “improve the user experience” or “strengthen the SEO.” Recommendations will explain what should be addressed, why it matters, and what improvement is expected.
We will acknowledge limitations
When evidence is incomplete or a reliable conclusion cannot be reached, we will say so. We will not present speculation as certainty.
We will respect the customer’s resources
Recommendations will be practical and proportional. We will not advocate unnecessary complexity, expense, or disruption when a more focused improvement is supported by the evidence.
We will protect what already works
A credible evaluation should not only identify deficiencies. It should also recognize effective elements that should be preserved and strengthened.
We will maintain professional integrity
Every evaluation will be approached with objectivity, consistency, confidentiality, transparency, and respect for the organization being evaluated.
Built to Provide an Independent Answer
Keystone Evaluations exists to answer a fundamental question:
Based on objective evidence, what should be done next to improve this website’s long-term success?
We believe website owners deserve an answer that is comprehensive, understandable, independent, and useful.
That is why Keystone Evaluations was developed. That is the purpose of IWEF. And that is the standard behind every evaluation we provide.
